Universal Music Groups ägare Vivendi har bekräftat att man sålt 10 % av UMG till det USA-baserade investmentbolaget Pershing Square Tontine Holdings. Detta sker innan UMG börsintroduceras i Amsterdam i höst.
Efter den genomförda affären kommer Vicvendi vid introduktionen på Euronext-börsen att äga 10 % av UMG. 60 % av aktierna kommer att distribueras till nuvarande innehavare. 20 % kommer att ägas av ett konsortium lett av kinesiska Tencent.
Prisklappen för PSTH:s inköp i musikdivisionen är 4 miljarder dollar, vilket betyder att UMG totalt värderas till 40 miljarder dollar.
Vivendi kommenterar att bolaget är “pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with PSTH … for the sale of 10% of the share capital of Universal Music Group. The closing of this transaction is subject to the continued participation of PSTH shareholders after they are afforded customary redemption rights, and completion of US regulatory processes, and is expected to take place in the coming weeks, and at the latest by 15 Sep 2021”.
Börsintroduktionen beräknas ske i slutet av september.
