Samtidigt som tusentals fans samlades på Sergels Torg i Stockholm i lördags för att tillsammans sörja Aviciis bortgång och hylla hans musikgärning, fylldes Internet av hälsningar från förkrossade musikbranschkollegor och vänner.
Sony/ATV Music Publishing, som varit Aviciis förlag sedan 2010, skriver i ett pressmeddelande:
“We are mourning the incredibly sad loss of an exceptionally creative talent who we have been honored and proud to represent as one of our songwriters for a number of years. Our thoughts are with his family at this time”.
Aviciis skivbolag Universal skriver att han inte bara var en exceptionell artist, utan framförallt en fantastisk människa:
Ash Pornouri, Aviciis manager i flera år, la först upp en svart bild på Instagram och senare en lång text som inleddes:
”Shock. Grief. Anger. Rage. Apathy. Despair. Misery. Pain.Pain. Pain. I don’t even know what this feeling is called. You were my family. My brother. My friend. My ally. Part of my heart. That’s now gone.”
En mängd artister och samarbetspartners har också uttryckt sin sorg. ”So sad, so tragic. Good bye dear, sweet Tim”, skriver Madonna.
David Guetta, som bland annat jobbade med Avicii på låten Sunshine, spelade Wake Me Up under sitt dj-set på Encore Each Club i Las Vegas under söndagen och skriver på Twitter:
”Something really horrible happened. We lost a friend with such a beautiful heart and the world lost an incredibly talented musician. Thank you for your beautiful melodies, the time we shared in the studio, playing together as djs or just enjoying life as friends.”
Noonie Bao, som fick sitt genombrott som låtskrivare med Avicii-samarbetet I Could Be the One, skriver på Twitter: ”Heartbroken to hear about Tim. I would be where I am today without him”.
Dj- och producentkollegan Sebastian Ingrosso skriver:
”I can’t find words but what I can say is that we all where couple of young kids from Sweden with dreams and Tim inspired us all and millions more. RIP my brother your music will live forever.”
